Horse Holidays France is often associated with long rides in nature, perfect for beginner riders or those seeking escape. But on a daily basis, Horse Holidays France also offers ongoing support for riders through individualized coaching, technical clinics, and even participation in dressage competitions. This way, every equestrian enthusiast, from beginner to competitor, finds satisfaction.
Anna: Passionate Coach and rider helping you improve your riding
Anna Geist, the founding president, is a rigorous instructor with a particular attachment to the discipline of dressage. Ally Pally, her young 7-year-old horse with whom she regularly competes, has already qualified two years in a row for the French National Championships for young horses in Fontainebleau ( 5 years old and 6 years old). Anna loves passing on her experience in sport, discipline, and competition to her students, combining high standards with genuine kindness. With this spirit, she offers technical lessons and mental preparation, helping her students progress, and perhaps aim for competitions themselves. “We welcome riders of all ages, with individualized coaching, whether for leisure or progressing toward competition,” Anna explains.
Motivating atmosphere at competitions
On April 6, Anna was thrilled to take five riders to a competition at Haras de Jardy. The riders competed on two of Horse Holidays’ faithful horses: Babylis and Vizambre. After several weeks of training, the girls shone in the Club 1, 2, and 3 classes. The team—along with supporters—gathered at 6:30 AM to prepare the horses, braid their manes, and organize the day. “For some, it was their first competition, but they were all deeply committed, even buying outfits for the event. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the performances were really encouraging for the future,” says Anna. Throughout the day, they supported each other and rode their first tests with pride.
“I’m very proud to have taken part in this first competition; it was a great challenge that Anna prepared us for,” says Louise, one of the riders. “I already can’t wait for the next one.”
Preparing for competition: Clinics and private lessons
Throughout the year, Anna likes to organize around a guiding educational theme: preparing for a competition test. Every rider—whether competing or not—is assigned a test “to study, learning to read it, visualize it, and prepare it mentally, just like in real competition,” she explains. This approach helps students develop autonomy and discipline, while becoming aware of how important attention to detail really is.
“We even had the chance to receive feedback from professional Grand Prix rider Camille Dollé,” Louise shares. Indeed, a clinic was organized a few weeks before the competition. It allowed future competitors and other riders to fine-tune technical details and deepen their daily work with precision. The clinic was a huge hit among the riders!
